The Sock Monster

With two people and not a ton of laundry, you wouldn't think that socks would ever get lost...well I am always looking for "THE OTHER MISSING SOCK". I always thought the dryer just ate it up, but today I came to the realization that we have a sock monster living within the walls of our home..and her name is JADE STUBBS, aka the female King Charles Cavalier in our home. We like to call her "Clepto" because she eats whatever she can put in her mouth (shes only 8 months) especially non food items. Evan came home from work today and heard her heaving and out came...MY SOCK?!?! How in the world did she even swallow it?? Oh goodness she cracks me up.

Birthday Fun!

We headed down to San Marcos for a surprise birthday dinner for Evan's sister Erin( her birthday was the 11th), we were the "surprise". We hadn't seen them in such a long time because of our busy schedules and Karen (Erin's MIL) is like our Mom too, she invited us over for dinner. It was so nice to see all the kids and also to just sit and visit. Happy Birthday Erin!

We also happened to stay very late playing a board game that we, Ev & I, got for Christmas. It is called Dominion. Now I will be honest, I like board games like Monopoly, Yatzee, Scrabble..etc but I have never been one to like games that take a ton of thinking like Settlers of Catan..those games never interested me, but my Evy loves them! {sidenote: because he is so good at understanding those games} I decided instead of just falling asleep and being a party pooper that I would try to understand..what do you know..I actually figured out the game and loved it. We had so much fun with Marc (bro-in-law) and Karen (Marc's Mom). We started the game at 9:30pm and ended at 1am, only because we didn't play the right rules..anyhow we ended up getting home around 2:30am, it was a quick drive..probably because I didn't stay awake very long..Evan did a great job getting us home safely! Love that guy!

Newest Greco Girl

We have a new niece and she is pretty dang cute! We are excited to have more babies in the family! This makes niece #7 on the Greco side and still only 1 nephew.
I headed to the hospital the day after she was born and hung out for a little bit then went to lunch with Tony and Bria.

Nor Cal Road trip Part I

We headed to Sacramento for a wedding Thursday evening and made pretty good timing. We got there around 2 am Friday morning. On our way to Sacramento, we stopped and stayed with one of my girlfriends and her cute family in Fremont, CA. We visited with the Grow's and Jonutz's and are so thankful we had the chance to catch up with each other. It had been 3 almost 4 years since I had seen EmJ and her kid..I should say kids now. She has three adorable little boys who are all boy! I loved how when they met me, they were a bit shy, but on their own called me Aunty Darcy. It made me smile. EmJ and I were very close in college and then when we both stopped playing soccer at CSU-Hayward, we went our separate ways, but kept in touch here and there. We have so many good memories together and it was nice to have the feeling of picking up where we left off. We loved hanging out with EmJ and her husband,Carter, and kids. It was so much fun! I felt like that was why we had driven up there! We went to Half Moon Bay and tried to see the tide pools but the tide was too high.We enjoyed our time anyways looking around.

So, I realized the shoes I was wearing to the wedding were open toed and my toe nail polish was a total wreck. I had a great idea! I invited EmJ to go get one with me {my treat}. It had been so long since we had done anything like this and it was so much fun!

Part two of our Friday consisted of meeting up with another amazing friend of mine, Shawna Brown and her daughter Lacey. It seems that Shawna and I get to have a reunion at least once a year for the past three years which has been such a treat. It is so nice to be face to face with someone that you love! We went out to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.

 Lacey is so grown up now and talking so much I couldn't believe it. She is such a big girl now!

So glad to have good friends in my life that love me and support me! I love that you don't have to be neighbors or down the street to keep developing relationships with your friends.

Nor Cal Road trip Part II

So the reason we made the trip from So Cal to Nor Cal was because my girlfriend, best college roomie and soccer buddy, Renae, was getting married aka renewing her vows. We really wanted to be there for the big bash and thought it would be fun for a little road trip together.The wedding was in Forest Hills, CA (in the mountains at a little lodge) On our way to Sacramento we had to cross a bridge. Well apparently these bridges dont take debit cards. CASH ONLY. Really who takes cash only in this day and age?? Long frustrating story short..we received a TOLL VIOLATION notice that said we would have to pay the toll plus $25 for not paying right then and there. Sheesh..Well don't worry because we thought of all the reasons why it was so dumb and are ready to dispute it! I am not paying $30 to cross a bridge that I didn't know was there..cuz google maps sure didn't tell me to be prepared for a toll! Grrr..Anyways, onto the wedding..dont mind all the pictures of us...I think my husband is hott! Okay I look nice too!

We had a good time seeing Renae, Justin, Payton and the Dudek family. They are such great people! The wedding was suppose to start at 3:30p. When we got their the power was out and had been out since 11:30am that morning..needless to say it was every Brides worst nightmare, but everyone was such good sports and really made the party great! It was just nice to see everyone..Poor Renae and Justin..not exactly the day they had planned. So glad to see them so happy and in love! Evan and I had a great time on the drive too.We learned that never stop at Popeyes if you want chicken because they overcharge you for barely any chicken. We learned that dont trust the google maps to tell you where a food place is because the directions will lead you to a hill with weeds.We had a good time together cruising around. Gas was really expensive, but it was worth the drive for all the memories we made! 

After we left the wedding on Saturday night, we drove down the mountain until we were too tired to drive anymore and slept at a hotel with "sleep number" beds..Ya not a fan! I couldn't find my right number no matter how hard I tried. Oh well it was an expensive bed for the night, but blessing was we got a free buffet breakfast! By mid morning we were on the road again back to So Cal and made it home just in time to get a good night's rest.So thankful for a safe trip!
