Sage Stubbs

Most people admire and are in aww at their children and post millions of photos of them on their blog and talk about the things they are doing and how much they have grown..etc..well..we don't have any babies yet, not by choice, just how its worked out. And I suppose I could take photos of my best friend and eternal companion because he is pretty amazing and wonderful and write novels about his amazingness, but he wouldn't like that too much. But we do have a little guy that we are responsible for and his name is Sage. Sage is our King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. He is 8 months old today. He really is a sweetie. Is it weird to say that I never knew I could love an animal as much as I do Sage? We love playing fetch with him, taking him for walks, letting him sleep next to me when I take a nap on the couch, and just enjoying his fun personality. He really is a good pup. He is a slave to his squeaky toys and no matter if he is in a dead sleep, he will wake up and fetch it. He also likes to hoard his toys under the table haha. We don't like to feed him human food, but he doesn't really care for his dog treats we have gotten for him, but Grandma Maggie (my mom) likes to try and sneak pizza crust, bread, or whatever she has and give it to Sage kinda like what I do with my nieces and candy =) Sage does enjoy beef jerky the few small pieces we gave him, on the other hand he didn't care too much for lettuce, I don't blame him. At Sages' last vet appointment on the 17th of May he weighed in at 12 lbs and healthy. Even though he has had a few accidents in the house because we failed to take him out in time, he is so much fun!

I had to work on Saturday so I decided to stop by my grandparents and visit with them . As I walked up to their house I do what I always do first since I was a kid, check for ripe juicy red strawberries in the rows of strawberry plants that have been there since I was a kid. There are just some things that always make me happy and this would be one of those things. I envy my husbands relationship that he has with his grandparents. I wish I had that growing up. On my biological Dad's side, my grandparents weren't that close to me. My papa died a couple years after my Dad died so I didn't know him well like my sister Jess did and my Grandma Greco I saw almost every summer as a kid, but when she moved to Georgia with my Uncle John I didn't really see her much. My Moms parents were close in distance and I saw them a handful of times during the year, especially at family Christmas parties. My Dad's, Dad and step mom weren't too far in distance either, but I didn't see them much either usually summertime and Christmas at the Cabin. I can only hope that my kids someday will get to enjoy their grandparents like Evs got to enjoy his. I want that for them. But regardless of how I much of a relationship I didnt really have, I always knew they loved me and were happy to see me succeed, and I have fond memories of the good times...But the moral of the story is..no matter what has happened with lifes relationships you can almost always find something good to remember about it..like me and my strawberry plants.

Josh, Britt, and Rubi came over to drop something off at our house and they stayed for dinner. Evs made some steaks, garlic mashed potatos, salad, and edamame. We had such a fun time! Its nice to be close to family. Rubi had fun chasing Sage. She thought he was playing with her when really he was running away from her..haha.. While we were cooking Rubi kept trying to come in the kitchen. We blocked it off with what we had and she was so upset that she couldnt get by. We turned one of the waters so it left a small gap, but Rubi initially just saw it as blocking her more because she couldn't get over it..but eventually she found it and thought she was pretty sneaky =) I love this little girl. She is so cute and I am glad she gets to know Uncle Quon and Auntie Darcy.

Since we have moved to Cali...

We attended our Nephew, Kade's 5th birthday! We were so glad that we were invited to a party that we could actually attend. He had his party at Chucke Cheeses. What a fun place! We had such a blast with Kade, Kai, Mia and Trace. They have grown up so much and well its nice to have a chance to be so close to them and be apart of their lives while they are young. We spent lots of time with them and then went and ate at BJ's with Marc, Erin and the gang. We were all so hungry, it was so much fun! We left our puppy Sage to hang out with Marc's Moms, Karen, dogs. It was a good socializing experience for him! And the kids played with him, "helped" walked him and give him lots of love!

Since we have moved to Cali...

Evs got me a Dog! I used to be very scared of dogs..I have had one too many dog bites/negative encounters and really havent ever liked dogs. But when I lived with my Hawaii parents before Evs and I were married, they had a dog in their complex and it was a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. This dog was beautiful! His markings were gorgeous and he was so much fun! I was ready to conquer my fear of dogs and I wanted one just like him, but in Hawaii a dog has to be quarantined for 6 weeks before they are allowed to be out in the open and in a residence. Plus my old apartment didn't allow me to have pets anyways. So I basically just sat, waited and wished. Then we moved here to Cali and I continued my search for my little boy Cavalier. I found one and he came to us from Missouri. We picked him up at the John Wayne Airport on May 14th. We named him SAGE STUBBS. He was so shaky and scared, but I mothered him and we fell in love with him instantly (He's a mommas boy) It took him a little bit to get used to everything and become regular in his bowel movements and feeding schedule, but hes doing well. We are crate training him since we are also house training him as well. He is such a fun boy! He is 7 months old and has such a personality! He loves to play fetch and loves to take naps. We are happy to welcome him to our little family!

Since we have moved to Cali...

We met up with my cousin Sarah to go see the Midnight Showing of IRONMAN 2! Yeehaa! It was pretty fun! We hung out at Sarah house for a lil bit, went and got some Subway then got to the theatre to wait in line at 7 pm. We were saving a place for Sarah's boyfriend and his brother too. Now are we crazy?? YES! We were the FIRST people in line..in fact they didn't even have a place for the line to start yet because we were so early--haha--but thats okay we had so much fun! We played games, ate, played games, and ate candy and food and got ready for the show. And the end result..People started lreally lining up around 9 pm, but hey we got prime seats right in the middle of the theatre and didnt have to fight anyone off. The theatre filled up super fast. And the movie..well I give it 5 stars. It was even better than the first one which I had seen so many times! These are the fun times and memories that are remembered! The silly things we do!

Since we have moved to Cali...

Mothers day has happened! We kidnapped my Mum against her will and took her to Medieval Times the Friday before Mother's Day. It was so much fun! GO GREEN KNIGHT. Mothers are amazing! I am so blessed to have my Mum and other Mother influences in my life. I am glad that Evs had "four mothers" as he says growing up because I am sure that is why he is such an amazing man! I love all the Mothers in my life, My Mum, My Hawaii Mom, My Sister Jess, My Sister Erin, My Sister Nicole, My Sister Michelle, and My Sister Brittanie. These woman have taught me so much about raising their kiddos with one central focus, LOVE ONE ANOTHER. I am so thankful for them; they each have their own way of raising their kiddos in a unique and loving way. I know My Sister Jenny and My Sister Meghan will be amazing Mothers too! They are wonderful and loving. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

My Husband made a delicious dinner and got me flowers for Mothers day! He loves me so much and treats me so wonderful! I love him!

Since we have moved to Cali...

We moved in real fast to our apartment then...Evs started school May 3rd..or so we were told.. FALSE START. I guess spring classes started May 3rd but not his department. So he got lucky and didn't start until May 5th. But doesn't he look so adorable?!?! haha. The campus of CALIFORNIA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY is absolutely beautiful! I had never seen it before. An update on Evs schooling: He is taking only two classes (Research methods and Law) because this term is only 7 weeks. He goes to school M-Th from 9:30-12:30. Out of the 19 students accepted into his program only 4 opted to do early start. He was very glad that he chose to just start early because now he is in the swing of things, knows all the 2nd year Athletic Training students, professors and he is taking the two most boring classes and getting them over with. He has only about 4 weeks left and he will have completed his first term in his masters program. I am so proud of him!

Since we have moved to Cali...

We had a nice family gathering to help my brother Tony with putting sod down in his yard. Well Evs put the sod down with Josh, Tony, Jesse, and I babysat Rubi. Since being away in Hawaii I have had two new nieces born, Bria and Rubi. I saw Rubi recently because she came to Hawaii, but I hadnt seen Bria since last July, except via webcam. It was hard to be far from the little ones because you want so much for them to know who you are and of course far from my siblings as well, its nice to be older and have a fun time still making fun of each other or enjoying time serving eachother.
