Growing up

Tonight, my parents and Evan and I went to the wedding of one of my childhood buddies, Selina Pilar Garcia. We were neighbors and the best of friends from toddler age all the way through high school. We kinda went our own way our Senior year, but hung out in college as we were both playing soccer and both in Northern California. We stayed in contact and were still a part of each others lives over the years. It was nice to see her happy and in love and starting her own little family. She is due on my birthday to have a little boy, Julian David, and I am so excited for her, shes gonna be busy. The wedding was small and intimate. It was on a yacht and very few people were invited, especially seeing how large her extended family is, but she just wanted to keep it small and simple. We cruised around the Newport Bay, passing Balboa Island. It was a beautiful view and a nice night. We are all grown up now, well we have been but you know..its official I guess.

Black Friday Madness

 So I have always had this crazy desire to hit up the BLACK FRIDAY sales after Thanksgiving, but I never really had any reason to "camp out". This year my brother needed to stand in line to get a super good deal on a tv for his father-in-law, which gave us the perfect excuse to go because we were keeping Josh company. After Josh though about this master plan, we found out that there was a frost advisory..but we were still gonna do it. We went to Target and got in line at around 8:45 PM Thursday night and the store opened at 4 AM Friday. We had a pretty good spot in line only about 30 other crazy people in front of us. We played some Farkle, listened to other people talk, tried to sleep, watched people come and go, ate some warm Del Taco breakfast burritos around Midnight (Josh made a food run while we held down the fort), and I got the boys hot chocolate around 2 AM when I needed to relieve my bladder. We had a fun time. People tried to cut but we called them out on it. We had an alliance with the people in front of us and behind us..haha. We looked out for each other. All in all it was a fun experience. We kept warm with layers of clothing, sleeping bags, and blankets. Next year I think we each need our own sleeping bag..the only thing that really never got warm were my feet. My back and bottom got cold sometimes too. But for it being 30 degrees outside, we kept pretty warm.

You can kinda see Evans breath. He was trying to capture how cold it was. After getting what Josh needed at Target and our $3 hand mixer, we headed back to Josh's and Brittanie and I took off to do some Khols shopping. I was up for a good 24 hours and it was at least a whole day recovery before I felt rested again. Sheesh...but it was worth the adventure and hanging out with my hubby and Josh.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year we spent Thanksgiving at my parents house. All of my siblings that live in So Cal were there for either part of the day or all of the day. It was a nice time to visit, plan our shopping adventures, and eat some good food. My Mom did a great job and worked hard. I am thankful for all her efforts and everyone that helped make thanksgiving wonderful. I have so much to be thankful for. My family, my husband, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for a loving Heavenly Father. So loving and giving that he sent his Son to earth to die for each of us. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a large part of my life and I am thankful for the strength I am given through it. I love my husband and his sweet heart. He is so good to me and forever loving me. I am thankful for my family. They are crazy, but thats how we roll. We have us a good time. I am thankful for my other family, the Stubbs side. I am so blessed to have their love in my life and their experiences to share.

Volleyball Date with Mom

Last night, Evan, my Mom and I, went to a BYU-Hawaii Volleyball game. They were in California playing against CSU San Bernardino for a Regional Tournament. Even though they lost, it was fun to cheer them on. They didn't have too many fans, but we were loud and happy screaming for them. My Mom loves volleyball, so it was a nice treat for her to watch and cheer on a college game in person, while it was also a nice treat for us to cheer on our Alma Mater, the BYU-Hawaii Seasiders. We had a fun time together! We love our dates with just Mom and us.

The Worth of a "Sole"

I was recently called into the Young Women's youth program [for church] as a leader for the 16-18 year old girls. I went to one of their activities which was to showcase some projects they had been working on within the program. The night was very organized and a lot of effort was put in by the other leaders. It was a very cute idea and it went very well. Each color represents a value that the young women learn about and work on developing.

Rubi

Evs and I decided we wanted to give Britt and Josh a break and take Rubi over night. One of the blessings of moving to the mainland is that we are so much closer to family. I met Britt at my parents house and picked up Miss Rubi. We were jamming to some cool music and right as I took my exit to my house she started crying. Why?? "Baba.." I was like where the heck is her Baba. Oh in the trunk. So I turned at the next street and got out and got it for her..She was happy, but then she looked like this.. 

 What was in her cup you may ask? Water. Boring. I think I would have cried too. I think Britt set me up for that one..haha

Luckily, my mom had given me a bag of goodies to take to my house and there just so happened to be a juice box in there. Point for Grandma Maggie. I had a happy girl at my hands again. Phew. She slept pretty well waking up once with a seeping wet diaper. We watched some cartoons and then I put her back to bed. She woke up when I woke up and I went in to check on her. She had taken off her diaper! Her poopy diaper..nonetheless..since she had no diaper on for who knows how long, she also relieved herself too..haha. Sorry no pictures a little pre-occupied with poop.Although, it was pretty funny and stinky. I stuck that girl right in the bath! She had a good healthy breakfast which consisted of Soda and Ice Cream haha just kidding as you can see oatmeal and applesauce.

 For some reason she loved the Wii remotes and cases. She was always playing with them.

  I think by far Rubi's favorite thing about our apt was our dogs. She loved to "LOVE" them in her own toddler way. Supervision was always necessary for all of this love.

We love our Miss Rubi and we were happy to spend some time with her. It was amazing to see how much she talks and gibbers and smiles and cries and laughs and snores.
