Sage getting to spend time and play with Libbs. Sage didn't like Libby at first, not sure why, but he was a hater. They have grown to love each other over the past few months and Sage actually will play with her now instead of acting too good for her and trying to be the man and just telling her to get away. Gotta love our puppies. They have such funny personalities.
On Saturday we met up with Brittanie and Rubi in Menifee, CA for their Independence Day celebration (apparently its a heck of a lot cheaper for them to do the celebration a week earlier than on the actual 4th of July). We walked around and looked at all the booths. We got us some old fashioned root beer and black cherry soda (I tried to share with Rubi, but Britt gave me the hater look and denied my opportunity to share with my niece--meany!) We didnt come prepared with ca$h, so Evs and I only had $7.00. Since Josh was working, Britt stole his money so we had a little more money to play with. Most of the booths for food and goodies only took cash, but I finally asked one of the food places, whose bacon I couldnt resist if she would accept a check and well she did!! So...we enjoyed some yummy bacon, egg, cheese and the works on a huge roll. It was delish! So yummy! I got a way cool light up bubble gun that my kiddos are going to love! We also got a funnel cake! It was way good too! Homemade batter and all! Rubi did well with the fireworks with this being really her first time being awake and alert for them. She did a little dancing to the music, but wanted to be right up by the DJ and all the people the whole time! I think shes going to be a social butterfly like her parents when she grows up! We had such a fun time and it got kinda cold..66 degrees. Burr. Thanks for the invite Britt and Rubi! We love you!

I love date night with my husband. We have date nite alot since we have no kiddos. Almost everything we do is a date. Its pretty fun. We have such a good time! For date night last nite, we decided to grab a pizza and head to the Drive-in movie theatre right across the street from us. It was a quick drive there and we dodged all the traffic on the way out. We watched the movie Grown Ups and it was awesome! Granted not the cleanest movie, but its and Adam Sandler movie, what did we expect, but it did have important points and some form of a moral..haha. We had a great time!
I love the movie, big, starring Tom Hanks. I dont know why I love to watch this movie, its just a classic. I often crave watching it. Its so funny that no matter how old a movie gets I still enjoy watching it. While we were in Vegas we were at an Ice cream parlor in Boulder City, NV and they had one of the "ZOLTAR" machines. Pretty funny! I felt for a milisecond that I was in the awesome movie, big! I love that movie.

I had the privilege of attending an Autism Movement Therapy workshop this past weekend in Los Angeles, CA. I had made contact with the founder and was trying to find out ways I could get involved with kiddos with Autism and Exercise. She mentioned that they were having a workshop but that it would be $750. I got excited then immediately discouraged because we definitely didn't have that kind of money to just hand over, even if it was something I was interested in. Long story short I was able to get a scholarship to attend the workshop and I am so thankful I had such an opportunity. Joanne Lara, founder and president, did such an amazing job! I learned so much about the brain and the need for cognitive re-mapping with these kiddos and how much music and dance can help bridge the left and right hemispheres of the brain allowing for these kiddos to wake up the brain and use their "whole brain". I am not a dancer by any means but this type of dance/aerobics was right up my alley. I learned so much about the meaning of patterns, shapes, and sequences in dancing that I never thought made a difference, but really the music we listen to and the way we move our body uses the "whole brain". It was fascinating! I wanted to just pick her brain. I became Autism Movement Therapy Certified so now I can teach everything I learned to my kiddos I work with as well to the community. I am hoping to have the opportunity to share this with those I know or those who have kiddos with Autism. Because how often do we see the special kiddos off on the side of activities and not involved with the dance class/sport their parent signs them up to do? I had such a great experience! Autism is diagnosed in 1 and every 91 kids. Every 20 minutes a kid in California is diagnosed with Autism. It is a Pandemic.I am glad I can help. I am happy to keep learning so that I can help!
We celebrated Evs birthday when I got home on Friday night. I surprised him and took him to the small theme park close by called..
It has rides and miniature golfing. We opted the golfing route since there were a million teenagers there for and end of the year bash. We had a lot of fun golfing!
Then we made a late night run to Evs favorite, In and Out.

After work last Thursday, Evs and I loaded up our car, along with Sage, and we made the short drive to Las Vegas! Evs Mom, Auntie and Grandma were flying in so we decided to make it a mini vacation. We stayed with Grandpa Stubbs in Boulder City, NV and it was so much fun just visiting with him and keeping him company. He is always an on the go guy, always has to be doing something..I felt real lazy compared to him. Anyways we had a blast. I love roadtrips and this was Evan and my first one being married (living on an island doesn't give you much opportunity to take a "road trip"). We really enjoyed ourselves. We had all our goodies in case, for when we got hungry/munchie. Evs drove and I stayed awake for the first hour and a half and knocked out after that..I tired hard to stay awake, but yeno my eyelids were stronger than me. We got there and went to sleep. Sage did well on the road trip , only a few whines, but heck if I had to pee like he did, I would have been whining too. We headed to the Techatticup Mine in Ghost town, Nelson, Nevada. Evs and I dont really enjoy too many "historical outings", we just arent that type of people what else can I say. When it comes to the Holocaust or WWII though we both really enjoy it. Anyways, so we headed to this Mine and it was so cool. The people that own it were friends of Grandpas and well, they have done such a great job with the place. They have all these old miners homes and have made them into their own unique places to stay. There were just so many things to see there and then the history of the Mine. I had never been to a mine, and it was quite cool I would have to say, Evs would have to agree as well. After the Mine, we headed to Colee (Evs sister) and Tyler Leavitt to visit with them. We hadnt seen our nephews in a whole year and it was so great! They have grown so much! We had such a great time! We miss them already. Sage tagged along with us to meet them, and the boys loved him, esp Jake. Sage did really well with them as well. Friday we hung around the house with grandpa and then Evs took me on a date to the strip. I had seen it a few times before but never walked it. Let me just say its one of those things you really only need to do once. There was far too many pictures of naked ladies on the ground, I walked with my head held high, thats for sure. Then you've got all the million card slapper people that try to hand you pictures of naked ladies..its just insane. But we enjoyed the beauty of the Paris, Bellagio, Venetian, MGM Grand, Ceasars Palace, Rio..etc. We enjoyed pizza, pretzel and dessert Crepe. I lost $1 because well I hated that game. Evs maxed out the credits on the first try and I lost. I didnt want to waste anymore money..so we just walked around and watched other people lose it haha. So much better that way! It was a fun day, lots of walking..forgot my walking shoes..my feet and lower back felt for my stupidity..We ended the night with some yummy Del Taco. We met up with our Hawaii family (our whole reason for going to Vegas) not until Sunday evening for dinner; they got in late then had an interesting time getting things situated, needless to say we were sad we didn't get a chance to see them more, but we did get a chance to spend more time with Colee, Tyler and the boys. We love them. We were also able to meet up with one of my favorite mission companions, Jecia Hutchinson. She lives in Henderson so we stopped by, she met Evs, we talked story with her and her family for a little bit, then it was ended up being 10:30 before we headed back to California. I think I lasted a whole 15 minutes in the car, while Evs drove. Hes a saint I tell ya. We had to stop so he could rest, but we were back on the road and I had no idea..I woke up periodically to see if we were there yet, then conked into REM mode. We had a such a great time! Its nice to be so close to Vegas now, to enjoy a good time with family.
