GUNG HEI FAT CHOY

A placid year, very much welcomed and needed after the ferocious year of the Tiger. We should go off to some quiet spot to lick our wounds and get some rest after all the battles of the previous year.

Good taste and refinement will shine on everything and people will acknowledge that persuasion is better than force. A congenial time in which diplomacy, international relations and politics will be given a front seat again. We will act with discretion and make reasonable concessions without too much difficulty.

A time to watch out that we do not become too indulgent. The influence of the Rabbit tends to spoil those who like too much comfort and thus impair their effectiveness and sense of duty.

Law and order will be lax; rules and regulations will not be rigidly enforced. No one seems very inclined to bother with these unpleasant realities. They are busy enjoying themselves, entertaining others or simply taking it easy. The scene is quiet and calm, even deteriorating to the point of somnolence. We will all have a tendency to put off disagreeable tasks as long as possible

Money can be made without too much labor. Our life style will be languid and leisurely as we allow ourselves the luxuries we have always craved for. A temperate year with unhurried pace. For once, it may seem possible for us to be carefree and happy without too many annoyances.

 Went to UCLA last night and had the opportunity to see Dr. Temple Grandin speak live!I saw the movie based on her life, and it was phenomenal! Seeing her speak though was such a neat experience and I love that I was able to hear from her personally about her struggle with Aspergers and the way she thinks in pictures. It helped me get a better understanding of how to help my kiddos with Autism. It was such an awesome experience

p.s. UCLA is such a beautiful campus..the buildings were gorgeous! It would have been nice to experience my college years on that campus, but ehh not my cup of smart tea..plus I would have never met my amazing husband and experienced the islands.

Never too late!

For my birthday cake I made a special request for my Husband. I wanted a cinnamon roll cake. Evs makes the best cinnamon rolls ever! But we have been so busy busy with this and that, that he hadn't had time to make it for me. So...last night (February 2nd) he made it and we ate it! Close to midnight almost 1 week after my birthday! I love that we are still celebrating! Never too late for some yummy special birthday cake from my husband! Love that guy!

When it rains it seems to pour lately! But we will get through it and we will be stronger because of it!

More Birthday!

We went to my Mom's house for dinner and had a small celebration for my birthday with a yummy cake (made by Jenny) and candles (even a singing one). Its always so much fun to be with my family. We missed the ones that weren't there too, but grateful we could all get together!

Remember Ninja?? One of the kittens I rescued..well he is so big and thriving! I am so grateful he has such a good home and turned out to be a good cat. I guess I was a good Momma Cat

Julian David Saludes

He finally came! After no epidural, not by choice more by default, Julian was born on 28 January 2011 at 3:31 am. He was 8 lbs 12 oz 22 inches long. Mom, Selina, was in labor for about 12 hours with about 1.5 hours of pushing. I was the first Auntie to hold him and love him. He is such an adorable little guy. Sweet little hand, and legs and eyes and lots of hair, but very white for a Mexican baby.

Very tired. First time David had a chance to catch some shut eye. 

 I am so proud of this girl. 

 After work, I headed with Evan back to the hospital so he could meet Julian.

I love little babies. They are so precious!

26th Birthday

For starters, I took the day off work! Phew, A day of fun began. Started out the day by going to breakfast with my Momma to Ihop. Then we went and got a Mani & Pedi and it sure felt amazing and relaxing. I hadn't had a Mani & Pedi in a very long time! I'm talking a good year or more (unusual when you are in my family, we love us some maintained feet). It was so much fun! Next we walked around the mall and checked out the stores. I finally got a ring guard for my wedding band and engagement ring so they stay together now, pretty much the best present, exactly what I needed. Then my Mom, being the generous woman she is, made it all about me and she let me pick out whatever I wanted. She's lucky I didn't have much time to shop because I could have done some serious damage. She was so kind and thoughtful. It was just nice to spend some time with her (I am always working so I don't get to see her too much except for Sundays). Evan had the second half of my day planned so we hurried home so he could take me to his SURPRISE. He took me to Glen Ivy Hot Springs. It was the most relaxing place I have ever been. I went a relaxed in the floating pool, the spa, the saline pools and tried out the red clay mud bath. After all that fun, Evs had scheduled a couples massage (ever since our Honeymoon we have tried to get a couples massage because its something we both enjoy, so I am glad Evs joined me on my birthday for one, such a great idea). After getting a massage, I went to go take a shower, but got detoured by this huge roman bathtub in the back of the locker room area. Oh I just sat in that for a little more time until they kicked me out and then got into the shower. It was seriously the most relaxing and pampering day (my camera battery died, so sadly I don't have many pictures). On our way home, I had gotten a message that my childhood best friend was in the hospital, her water had broke. We stopped by and I cheered for baby Julian to come out on my birthday! She was only dilated at a 2 at 6 pm, so we hung out with her for an hour or so and then went home. I wanted Pizza for my Birthday dinner. So we ordered the Big Dipper from Pizza Hut with my favorite toppings, pineapple and mushroom, and the other half was pepperoni, for Ev.  All in all I had an amazing birthday. I have always been about spending time with Evs. To me, getting to spend time with him is so much more important to me than anything he could buy me (like a kitchen aid he wanted to get me). After dinner, we went to his intramural basketball game and he played really well. Evs also dyed my hair for me too! I got so many call from friends and family, I was grateful for such a special day to celebrate another year, 26, to be exact. Dang I am getting up there..Today was my birthday, tomorrow will be just another day!

My faith is strong.

My faith is real. It has been tested and tried more now than ever. I am pressing forward with faith and I will never give up..I will just struggle along the way. The struggles will make me stronger. And that strength will make my faith more real.

Evs sister Erin and her 4 kiddos came up from San Marcos to spend the day with us. We had a nice time playing games, listening to music, playing with the dogs and snake, and watching shows on TV. It was just nice to relax. Then we headed to the cheap theater in Perris and watched Tangled. We ate lots of popcorn and loaded up on candy! Such a fun time. It was such a cute movie too! I seriously really loved it! We went to my Mom's house and hung out with her (she just got back from a trip to Oregon). It was a nice day! Grateful I have so many wonderful people in my life.

Day 3: We are definitely cool, but I think she misses her parents

She started calling me mom. She went to the fridge for more "yogo" (yogurt).We told her no. She cried. We ignored her. She cried. We said,"Dont touch that". She laughed, smirked and did it anyways. We went for a walk. She ran off to do her own thing up the stairs. I told her no Elmo's World. She suddenly came back and walked with me again. She's such a sweet girl. I just love her so much! So glad we had the chance to have a "free trial". We love our little niece Rubi! And miss her poopy diaper butt around our house.

Day 2: We are still cool but she's starting to think we are mean.

 We went to church today and it was interesting to have a 2 year old with us. I wondered did I my Mom have to feed me that many snacks to keep me quiet. Rubi is one busy girl! She loved the old lady sitting next to us, kept loving on her and smiling at her..only to try to get into her purse! We kept her pretty well calm and quiet through most of the first hour, but Uncle Quon (Evs) had to take her out for a beating when she wouldn't calm down. She was screaming so loud outside the chapel that an old man said, "that little baby doesn't seem too happy. She sure does scream loud." Haha!  She wanted the "Hymn Book" that "accidently" fell on the floor when she dropped it, but really she wanted to be running all throughout the pew getting into whatever she could find or touch. I don't blame her she is almost 2. She did better than I thought she would though. Kudos to her parents they are doing a good job!She was happy to be out of the chapel and able to run around. In fact when we did put her down she ran in the direction of the nursery room like she had been there before. It was hilarious! She loved all her new friends.We came home had some lunch, that Rubi refused to eat and threw on the floor, gave her two chances to try and eat it again, she didn't, so off to bed she went. We played games and watched shows and even played dress up. Ru liked to just find clothes in my closet and put them on and all my jewelry too! So we (I) dressed her up and "put on her makeup" and she had a little fashion show. So much fun! She slept through the entire night and woke up around 7, but went back to bed until 8am. When Rubi watches a show she doesnt seem to watch it she roams. So for "her" benefit of staying in one place we strapped her in her stroller and she thought it was so cool. 

For dinner, Ru did a really good job eating all her food. She ate all her chicken, mashed potatoes and asparagus. She was being such a good girl that I let her watch a show right at the table. She was loving that! She got a lollipop for being good!

 Due to a nap incident where Rubi took off her pants and diaper, we took precautions and used electrical tape to secure that the diaper would stay on all night. I wasn't too interested to flying poop and pee all over my room..but of course purely to keep Ru comfortable and warm!
