Wedding Bells

I love attending weddings!! They are so beautiful and remind me often of the promises Evs and I made almost 3.5 years ago. Cynthia & Allen were sealed in the San Diego Temple yesterday, June 1, 2012. I am so grateful that Jenny & I could be there in the temple with her as she was sealed. Since her family aren't members they couldn't be inside the temple, I felt extremely grateful to be there and share her day with her. They were actually sealed for time and all eternity inthe same exact sealing room that Evs & I were sealed in, it was surreal to be in there again and feel even more love for my sweet hubby--I had a flashback of memories. She looked beautiful! Just stunning! They looked so happy and in love and I love love, seeing that in a couple.

 Jenny is amazing! She became the impromptu photographer @ Cynthia's wedding..I wont say why because that would just be mean, but I will say she saved the day and captured some amazing moments. She was at the end of her rope by this time..Love you Jenny!

Evan was being a thrifty romantic {giving me a rose from the centerpiece}. I loved it and have it in a vase in my house.

Staycation Part 3

We spent today the best way--TOGETHER!! And it was awesome!

AND...We played Bocce Ball with rocks in the sand..It was so much fun!

Staycation Part 2

Went to Del Mar dog beach today! Lots of dogs too! Sage & Jade told me they had a great time {no really in doggy language-falling fast asleep}!

 These guys are my furry kids and I get so much joy from watching them having fun {Pretty sure I am the one having the most fun}!

Staycation Part 1

 So glad we could be with Cynthia (and Allen} on such a special day! It was nice to come back to the temple where Evs and I were sealed for eternity. 

We spent Saturday morning here. Together. It was such a beautiful day to be in The House of the Lord.  We felt such peace. I love to go to the temple! Its a special place for us!

Later, on Saturday night, we went to dinner here:

It was great food!

Then Evs surprised me with dessert--GELATO--something we have never eaten together.

Then we realized we needed to get some groceries for Sunday--so we went to another place we have never been together {not by choice} WHOLE FOODS MARKET..let me just say, Can I please get some processed food?!?! I walked around that store going "whoa! thats expensive! Yikes! Seriously for nasty bread! $9.99/lb for steak, that has got to be some golden steak!" We survived but needless to say we wont be going to break the bank at WHOLE FOODS MARKET anytime in the near future.

Friday Night

Date @ In-n-Out. I hadn't seen Cole and Ru in a few weeks! So I was so excited to see them on Friday night! They are so much fun! And growing fast! J&B and J&J met up with us on our way out of town, it was good to see them too =)

Bridal Shower

Our friend Cynthia is getting married! Its pretty exciting! She and her beau, Allen, are getting married June 1 in the San Diego LDS temple {same temple Evs and I were hitched for eternity}. For her bridal shower we scoured Target with her registry in hand and weren't really sure what to buy. I haven't been to many bridal showers in my short life, so I wasn't really sure what the difference between a bridal shower gift and a wedding gift {basically when do you give the Victoria Secret gift so you embarrass the new bride, but not look skanky??} . Anyways, we put some thought {two hours walking around} into a fun gift! We made what we call a "Keeping the Fire Lit Stater Kit". We bought a basket with a lid and filled it with things to do together:

-COOK & EAT together {a box of cupcake mix, a whisk & cupcake pan with a lid}

-WORK together {put a 750 piece monkey puzzle}

-PLAY together {a game called Bananagrams}

-CLEAN together {dish towels}

-RELAX {A box of Popcorn}

Today, May 13th, 2012,  happens to be Mother's day! Happy Mother's Day to Momma Maggie and my other Momma Lolly. We love you so much! Thanks for being such amazing women and teaching us by example to love, serve, and respect. You rock! We are grateful for all you do for us!

We are onto..

Whatever that is...

We got the call. Emory didn't say why they didn't choose him. But he was not one of the top 5 chosen for the program. No matter what thought, Evan had an amazing experience. He did his best and will now move on to something else. It might have been in our plans, but it sure wasn't in Heavenly Father's plan for our family {He must've known my dogs don't do well in humidity}. I pondered how good Evan felt after his interview. I made him tell me every detail and it sounded like he did such a great job. I am so proud of him. Its not everyday a Doctor tells you, "you are a strong candidate". I wondered how someone {we} could feel so confident and good about such an experience/interview, how the flow of the process just happened, it wasn;t forced and then it didn't work out. When I asked Evan if he felt dissapointed? {especially because he felt so great about everything} he said," The good we felt comes from the Lord saying He is with us." He is such a trooper to go through so many emotions and be at peace with their decision. I love him so much!
