Thanksgiving in Georgia

We headed to Georgia November 21st and traveled through Alabama and then on into South Georgia and finally to beautiful Macon to visit my Uncle Jon Greco and cousins who I hadn't seen in over 4 years and my cousin Kasey in almost 13 years!

I've heard about cotton fields before when learning in school. But I was amazed at the beauty of the large fields and then watching them harvest them. Guess I've been on the west coast far too long!

Thanksgiving 2012: We have much to be grateful for. Life: is one of those things that we have learned to not take for granted. Our Puppies: they are my angels without wings. Family: no matter where they are, they are always there to support, comfort, and love even 2,000 miles away.

Since I was in Georgia last (13 years ago) many things have changed. The trees in the pictures below were just planted. My cousins and their families live in the two houses on the property that was once my Uncle's and Grandma Greco's. It was surreal to be back there and so much be different. A lot of great memories came flooding back.

Book of Mormon

We finished the Book of Mormon together again! It took us less than 2 years this time too! We weren't perfect at reading every single day, but we tried and this new year we will do better again and gain more. We need the scriptures. We need to learn and grow and feel spiritually fed. We need to be able to grow closer to God each day. We need to learn more our of Savior constantly. Through the Book of Mormon all these things were accomplished. Our relationship, our testimonies, and our faith grew because of the hope, faith and charity of those that recorded their dealings and trials as they were commanded to. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, lives. He died for each of us. He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and was crucified on the cross at Golgotha. The people of the Americas testified and recorded what they knew happened and would happen. The prophets taught us from the very beginning with Lehi to be obedient. To love. To forgive. To believe, even if we just have a desire to believe. To trust. To have faith, hope and charity. To endure. To pray always. To repent. To listen. To let the Spirit guide. Most importantly about Jesus Christ. We are thankful for the scriptures. For the truth. 

"We talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins..And now behold, I say unto you that the right way is to believe in Christ, and deny him not; and Christ is the Holy One of Israel; wherefore ye must bow down before him, and worship him with all your might, mind, and strength, and your whole soul.."- 2 Nephi 25:26,29

Twilight Saga

Evan and I started re-watching the Saga together so that we could be up to date and see the EPIC finale on Saturday. We started Thursday night and did it double feature style.

This was Evan and Sage during New Moon. They didn't quite make it to the end. Evan does work early mornings so I guess I understand. That used to be me many moons ago. Our roles have reversed. 

Friday we continued our marathon.

Saturday finally came. We ended up making a day out of it. We went to a matinee showing of

 Breaking Dawn Part 2. 

I was pretty stoked while watching it, I just love this series!

We hit up the mall and walked around. Then went to dinner at Moes. It was a really nice day with my hunny! I sure love him and how well he treats me!

Went to a local Oyster Bar called Peg Leg Pete's. Evan had the seafood. I stuck with red meat. Shared my bread, potatoes & Evs sugar snap peas with our lovely little guests.

Gulf Breeze Zoo

Ali & Kiki took a trip out here to spend time with their Great Grandparents. It just so happens that we live about 30 minutes from where their GG live. What a treat for us to get to see them and spend time with them for a couple days. It was fun!

We had a good time. Taking two 1 year olds to the ZOO was so much fun. I know they are little, but I wanted to experience this with them!

"United we stand, divided we fall"

 President Barack Obama (D) and Governor Mitt Romney (R)

We sat in our living room switching between Fox, NBC, CBS, CSPAN, the CW and ION {these two as a distraction of course not election coverage}. We got excited as Mitt Romney would pull ahead in the electoral votes. It was exciting. But the votes were still being counted. Obama would close the gap as the polls closed in states.We had a constant prayer in our heart that Mitt would get elected. There were some states that Obama swept. And there were states that Romney swept. But then there were those in between states. It was amazing to me that   so many of our fellow Americans could be so divided. In the end. Mr. President was re-elected for a second term, 4 more years. May our thoughts and prayers be with Mr. President, the House and the Senate. Please think of the little people when making decisions for the betterment of our country as a whole because we really suffer when you suck. I hope people desire to work hard and not just freeload their way through life because the money has to come from somewhere and I will not sell my dogs. We are hard working educated members of the middle class and it would real sweet to be "comfortable" at some point in our lives (hint hint Government). It would also be nice to be united as the land of the free and not just in time of crisis.

We found a fun place to eat called Sidelines. Its a sports bar/restaurant with big screen tv's on every wall broadcasting all the important college football games. Evs was in heaven.

We have been really loving our new home, new area, and new ward. The weather has been beautiful fall weather. Evan is enjoying his job and has gotten lots of compliments from his supervisors on what a great job he has been doing. Such a proud wife. I have been unpacking the rest of the house and getting more settled. We have done a little exploring and getting more familiar with Gulf Breeze and Pensacola. I mostly stay pretty close to home and US-98 is a frequent route I stick to for now. Searching for a couch and for a job is on my to do list, but I will get around to it. Our super love sac will do for now. 

We were sad to see Momma Lolly go. It was so wonderful having her here to help me get organized and to toot around town with me while Evs was at work. Thank you for everything!

Holiday Opener

Happy Halloween!!

As you can see they are so thrilled to be dressed up once again. I thought they would be so much happier to only have a little hat to wear...negative...Sage (Frankenstein) just laid there grumpy faced until I took it off him and Jade (little Devil girl) well she posed like a statue until I took hers off. Good sports!

We didn't do much for Halloween. I at least threw some decorations up to feel festive.We were pretty boring and only dressed the dogs up. We went to the church for a trunk or treat. Those kids got so much candy I am glad that I am not the one paying for the dental bill. Quote of the night: A 7/8 year old little girl dressed as a devil, opened her bag, looked at Evan and said, "Load me up!"  It was pretty funny! We had a easy low key night.
