LOVE

Since being called into the Young Women's Presidency a couple weeks ago, I have had the privilege to study the new curriculum called Come Follow Me. Its truly inspired and I feel like a missionary again, teaching by the Spirit from Preach My Gospel , the basic principles of the gospel. Its so wonderful! We have recently been learning about the Plan of Salvation. How we lived with God before we came to this earth, why we came to earth, the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and where we will go after this life on earth. I came across this quote and really appreciated how it expressed our Heavenly Father's motive for the grand plan.

After I worked this morning, I holla'd at my Honey BooBoo to tell him I was on my way home. I asked him if we could go see the movie Safe Haven. Being the amazing man that he is, he said, "Sure" without any groans. So he got online and started looking up the times. He mentioned Warm Bodies and I said, "Lets go see that instead. I know you will enjoy it much better and I did want to see it too. I have already read Safe Haven the book, so its no big deal."  He agreed on that. Don't you love a compromise? I am grateful for a super hubby who deals with me when I am just not feeling as "compromisy". (Like last week when I wanted to go pick up some free carpet that a lady was getting rid of, since our floors are wood in the family room and with dogs its not as fun to clean up their estranged hairs, and tile in the bedroom where its cold when you hop out of the shower and try to get ready.) Anyways, we really enjoyed the movie. With us its like date night every night. But even though its just the two of us and you can always find us renting a Redbox and staying up late, we really love to get out and have a "real date".  This movie was really cute! We had a large Cherry Pepsi and sour patch on hand, and two Nathan's hot dogs I snuck in from Sams club. We enjoyed our movie and our treats a lot. thanks Honey BooBoo for a great date!

Amazing Race

We love this show! We're pretty excited for a new season. We walk through the scenarios the people on the show are going through, as if we were actually there, its like our way to bond on the show without actually being on it, nothing wrong with imaginative play! Maybe it's because we've always wanted to explore and travel around, but have always been in school and haven't ever had the money to pick up and go. I don't ever think we will really ever travel the world, but there are some places that we would like to go- like the very first leg of the race, Bora Bora! I've always wanted to go to French Polynesia! Maybe someday.

I love my Valentine. He is the very best. Full of unconditional love all the time not just February 14th and I am so blessed! He is my everything! We kept things pretty low key around here this year since it was a long day for both of us. We ordered a pizza and enjoyed what we had left of our "Valentines Day".

I told Evan one day I want to actually be in China for the New Year. It think it would be awesome! For now we will celebrate it in every non-Asian location we live in. Let the Asian culture live on in our family!

A blessing

Autism found me in Florida. I applied for a job doing Behavior Therapy what seems like over a month ago. Along with many other jobs I applied for, I just waited. I actually forgot that I had applied. During my prayers one day, in my trusting voice I told Heavenly Father, "If you are waiting for me to be finished coaching soccer for the season, and then a job will pop up, I understand and I will be patient, I just hope that is the reason for the delay in finding a job." Well soccer season ended. And the very next day I got a call for an interview. I guess I got my answer. Soccer is very therapeutic for me. And coaching is even more rewarding. I am glad I caught onto Heavenly Fathers plan. I was hired the day I was interviewed and started immediately that Monday. It had been about 6 months since I had done therapy with any kiddo. I suppose its like riding a bike. My client is 11 years old. He is non-verbal and non-hearing (has some residual hearing). I have had to step up my ASL and try to help him learn the correct signs too. We are a cooky pair trying to figure each other out. I love his laugh. It is so contagious. I truly believe spirits like his are sent to earth for a great purpose. He is such a sweet kid. I cant imagine what it is like for him to not be able to communicate his wants and needs. I hope that I cant make his life and his parents life better. I know Heavenly Father is on my side. I am grateful that Autism found me in Florida. I have a great service to give and much to learn.

28th Birthday

My Honey Boo in the kitchen making all my goods. Dinner and cupcakes per my request (demand). He is an angel! We ate dinner and watched Hunger Games and Ice Age Continental Drift.

 I think I ate three or four cupcakes after blowing them out. They tasted AMAZING! It felt like I was eating empty calories! YUM!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ME!! I guess birthdays are like a new year to celebrate your life..so TWENTY-EIGHT-heres to a good year!

Saturday is a Special Day!

Its the day we celebrated my PRE-BIRTHDAY!

We can cross off this southern restaurant from our bucket list. Evs took me for my birthday celebration!

Another thing we did for my birthday was I got a haircut! 13.5 inches GOODBYE!! Its been 4 years since I have had my hair this short. I like the change though. I have always wanted an A-line and I am excited I had the guts to do it! I couldn't exactly change my mind after she started hacking away.

We also went to a Pensacola Ice Flyers game. It was both of our first live Hockey game and we had a great time. It was a lot of fun! We saw them break one of the glass panels, a gloves and gear off kinda throw down, lots of people getting thrown in the penalty box, lots of guys getting checked, some amazing goals scored, a proposal during period 2 & 3 and a WIN 5-2! We hope to go back before the season is over.

The Lowdown as of Late

There hasn't been too much going on around here. I continue to volunteer coach at Navarre high school for the Girls Varsity soccer team. Our record is 5-1-1 in our District. We are heading into the last week of the post season, District Semi-Finals. Game tonight and tomorrow and if we win, Friday finals here we come! Evan continues to work his heart out at work. He really enjoys it. The past few weeks he had to cover for his boss because she had a fall and hit her head, leaving her with a bad concussion (Athletic Trainers know all about concussions). She was out for a couple weeks and Evan was thrown into the fire to pick up her job while he was on a rotation where he had been working with another Doctor. He was nervous and unsure, but I sure believed in him. His boss came back and is not 100% so he is still helping her get back on track. I am sure proud of him! In other news the job search continues and apparently having a college degree and a ton of experience all around hasn't made me the "IDEAL" candidate, whatever that may be. While browsing Craigslist for local jobs I came across this:

This seriously gave me a little bounce in my step as I continue to search for a job and keep the faith that the right one comes along. 

Hobbies

Jade has taken up some modeling. She is hoping to get her first gig soon. 

We have been exercising more, which means resting more.. for the doggies anyways.

happy twenty-thirteen!

Headed to downtown Pensacola,FL for the NYE Pelican Drop. Walked around looking at the open shops. Peopled watched drunkards. Inhaled far too much second hand smoke. Listened to live bands. Danced. Sang. Ate new foods. And called it a night before the "Pelican" even dropped. Figured it was safer to be off the road before midnight.

Came home and finished up our 3 day marathon and watched the final movie in The Lord of the Rings trilogy (made it to bed around 3:30 am). Safe to say it was a great night.

 Paused our movie to watch the Moon Pie drop on tv (live in Mobile, Alabama) Woo hoo! Got a midnight kiss and returned to the movie!

TWENTY-TWELVE!

We have much to be grateful for most importantly each other. E graduating and his job of course, our families, three new nephews, the Gospel, tender mercies, health. 
Count your Blessings. Recounts are OK.
 I could tell 2012 to go to HELL, but then I would lose all the good things that have happened. We are constantly reminded to Be Grateful. We have to endure all that happens which is out of our control. Our hearts were broken by much loss, but we have kept the faith and we will keep going.

Four amazing years!

Four years ago we were hitched! And since then.. there's nothing I would change. He has made me better. And I am so lucky!

His card from me says, Sometimes when we're lying in bed, I look over at you and think, "I am so lucky." Then you start snoring in that snorty way and I think, "Well, that's annoying but I'm still lucky."

Ev said if he could have found the perfect card for me it would say:

We decided to head into Alabama this year and hit up this neat restaurant my cousin told us about called Lamberts Cafe. It was such the best local southern food that I have had thus far. We loved the atmosphere, the decor, the food and the people. They throw rolls at you when you want another one. They come by with "pass arounds" that are put right on the table. They give you giant drinks and refills for free! 

Afterwards, we headed to the Tanger Outlets and shopped around and then headed home. We had a great day together. This year we learned a great deal about buoying each other up and carrying each others load. A year that we fell even more in love and appreciated (even more) our life together.

Christmas Joy for TWO + two furry ones!

Christmas Morning we got a delivery. Small, simple things. 

Best doggie toy EVER!

For Christmas this year, since it would be the 2 of us, we decided to take each other to a movie we wanted to see as our gift to each other. We love the movies so it just seemed perfect. I took Evan to see the Hobbit (3D and IMAX). It was a great movie. Since I liked The Hobbit, I decided I wanted to (finally) watch The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. We will be watching those as we head into the New Year!

Evan took me to see Les Miserables. I really enjoy musicals and plays. We enjoyed the movie, the singing, and even cracked up when an older guy received a call (which he let the phone ring and ring before he picked up) in the middle of the movie and he answers it and loudly says, " HELLO? HELLO? Steve, I am in a movie..(Pause).. can you text me.." Awesome! The entire theater proceeds to "SHHHHSH! him" 

We were able to Skype with family throughout the day. We were glad to see they were enjoying their Christmas, but it was sad to be away too. 

Ru opening her Tinkerbell & Periwinkle Dolls and Secret of the Fairies movie. The best part about Christmas is when you are so excited to give to others. I was so excited for Ru to open her present! So glad I could see her joy.

We enjoyed Celebrating  His special day. The day of our Lord. He entered this world so humble and sacrificed His life for the world. For me.

We each have been given a gift.

Tis' the Season

We didn't send out Christmas cards this year, but I like to just make them for our memories. 

This photo was interesting to take. We took it on the beautiful beaches of Navarre, Florida (we live just down the road from them).They are gorgeous white sand beaches right on the Gulf of Mexico. The sun was going to down so we had to hurry. Dogs aren't allowed on the beaches (to keep irresponsible pet owners off the beaches , I suppose), so we had to find a secluded spot, get the dogs to look at the camera and smile, while I run back after setting the timer. Needless to say we were happy we got at least one good picture before we completely lost the light. The beauty is so surreal living so close to the Gulf. 

End of the world

We spent our "last day" watching movies like Pitch Perfect, L.O.L (my choice) and the movie that is going on in Evan's head (his choice). Evan ate Macaroni & Cheese for dinner while I had a tuna Melt. We had a little dance party (dogs included). We did the Wobble dance, shook it like Shakira (Hips Don't Lie), Dirty Bit, Replay, and the playlist goes on. We are such a crazy bunch around here! If the end of the world was really today, I am pretty sure we would've gone out like champs!
